Finance and Operations


Priority Given to Data Integrity

The Finance and Operations team ensures the integrity of financial and accounting data relating to the Caisse’s activities. This fundamental role requires the adoption of progressive practices that are in keeping with the complexity of business. The team is primarily responsible for:

  • Accounting and control;
  • Financial governance;
  • Support, administrative and analytical operations relating to investment activities;
  • The Caisse’s borrowing programs;
  • The physical work environment.


Daily Team Support
The Finance and Operations team interacts with the other Caisse teams in the performance of its day-to-day activities:

  • Financial statement preparation;
  • Management of current accounting, particularly the accounts payable service;
  • Coordination of investment valuation processes;
  • Support for investment groups in back-office transactions and implementation and management of analytical tools;
  • Participation in the Caisse’s cash management;
  • Provision of physical space and supplies that meet employee needs.


HIGH-CALIBRE EXPERTISE
The Finance and Operations team is active in five areas of expertise.

  • Accounting and Control
    Prepares the Caisse’s accounting and financial information in accordance with the best practices and controls operating expenses. These accounting experts support the Auditor General of Québec and the other resources who take part in auditing the financial statements of the Caisse and its subsidiaries.
  • Financial Governance and Special Projects
    Ensures the application of financial certification and internal control policies, ongoing monitoring of the management framework and coordination of the realization of the approach to the optimal utilization of resources.
  • Operations
    Supports portfolio managers by providing them with the information and tools required to administer, monitor and settle operations according to market rules. Its professionals also take part in various projects, such as the changes in processes and systems.
  • CDP Financial
    Acts as a liaison with credit rating agencies that assign a ranking to the Caisse. Its experts manage the financing programs of CDP Financial, a Caisse subsidiary.
  • Business Services
    Provides employees with premises, supplies and material services. Its specialists also manage the Caisse’s leases and negotiate with various suppliers, particularly with regard to telecommunications.
