Accurate, Regular Information

Transparency is one of the Caisse’s values. In terms of governance, this means that it is willing to report accurate information on a regular basis with regard to practices used, objectives sought and results achieved. In practice, in addition to this information, the Caisse publishes various details such as voting at the shareholders' meetings of the companies in which it invests and detailed performance of its specialized portfolios.

The Caisse is first and foremost concerned with its depositors when it comes to reporting. They periodically receive a report on changes in their funds and returns obtained.

Reporting also involves the regular distribution of information on the Caisse’s activities to the different parties concerned. In addition to its depositors, these include employees, the government, business partners and the Québec population.

REPORTING MECHANISMS
Reporting activities take a number of forms, including:

• Reports to Depositors
  The Caisse produces monthly fund and portfolio management reports. It conducts analyses comparing results with those of market indices or other institutional fund managers. Compliance certificates attest to the fact that investment policies have been respected.
• Annual Report
  As required by law, the annual report is filed each year with the Québec Finance Minister, prior to April 15th. This report provides a detailed description of the activities and results of the last fiscal year. It is approved by the Board of Directors. This document is available to the general public in all Québec libraries and at the Caisse, most notably through its web site.
• Financial Certification
  The President and Chief Executive Officer and the Senior Vice-President, Finance and Operations sign a public financial certification each year. The Caisse thereby certifies that the depositors’ investment policies as well as those of the specialized portfolios have been respected by its managers.
• Public Documents
  The Caisse provides access to several of the documents it produces: publications, press releases, speeches and annual reports. The majority of these documents are available on-line through this web site in the News and Media section.
