Gilles Godbout has overseen the development of the financial services investment portfolio since January 2006. He began his career in 1975 as a banking studies analyst at the Bank of Canada. Three years later, he joined the ministère des Finances du Québec, where he spent more than 25 years, first as an analyst and eventually as Director General and Assistant Deputy Minister. In 1996, he was appointed Deputy Minister, Finance, a position he held until he was hired by the Caisse. He currently sits on the Caisse’s Asset Allocation Management Committee.

Mr. Godbout holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics, as well as a bachelor’s degree with a major in history, from the Université de Sherbrooke.
