Reporting
Ongoing, Open Communication
By entrusting its funds to the Caisse, each depositor expects to periodically receive a report on changes in its assets. This is what we call reporting.
The service agreement linking the Caisse to each of the depositors specifies the conditions and frequency of this reporting. Among other things, it requires that reports be submitted monthly and that meetings be scheduled for each depositor at least twice a year. In 2007, the Caisse held 140 meetings and activites with its depositors.
In addition, the Caisse organizes seminars and other activites for depositors in order for them to be able to evaluate the different economic and financial factors that have an impact on their funds’ return.
The following is a sample of the official documents the Caisse prepares for each depositor:
- Monthly Reports on Fund and Portfolio Management
The Caisse reports on the return obtained, the source of the return, the value added compared to the benchmark indices and the risk assumed.
- Comparison of Results
The Caisse provides a comparison of the return it achieves for each of its specialized portfolios with that of other institutional fund managers.
- Compliance Certificates
The Caisse certifies that it has complied with its depositors’ investment policies and its portfolio managers have complied with the investment policies of the specialized portfolios.
As required by the Act governing its operations, the Caisse also submits an annual report to the Assemblée nationale du Québec. This report provides a detailed description of its activities, results and financial statements. Each depositor receives a copy of this report.
