Specialized Portfolios' Investment Policies
Well-Defined Investment Portfolios
The investment policies inform the depositors on the characteristics of the 18 specialized portfolios the Caisse offers them.
In their investment policy, the depositors indicate how they wish to allocate their assets in these portfolios, which are similar to mutual funds.
Each investment policy specifies the specialized portfolio’s management philosophy as well as a group of reference points:
- Portfolio’s organization and structure;
- List of the types of eligible investments and securities (stocks, bonds, futures, etc.), along with the authorized geographical markets;
- Market index that is used as a benchmark for measuring returns;
- Value added objectives versus the return on the benchmark index;
- Hedging of currency risk;
- Risk limits and their framework.
Overall, the investment policies reassure the depositors that the specialized portfolios in which they have decided to invest their funds meet their expectations and their objectives in terms of performance.
