Our Clients, the Depositors

Our expertise for the Benefit of our Clients

The Caisse’s clients, its depositors, are primarily Québec public and private pension funds and insurance plans. They entrust the Caisse with their funds in order to obtain an attractive return.

The Act governing the Caisse and other specific legislation determine which organizations are authorized to deposit their funds with the Caisse. The Caisse is not mandated to receive funds from individuals or private businesses.

On December 31, 2007, the Caisse had 25 depositors. Seven of these held over 97% of depositors’ net assets.

THREE CATEGORIES OF DEPOSITORS
Depositors are divided into three categories.

Pension Funds
Among the main funds or plans: Fonds du Régime de rentes du Québec, Régime de retraite des employés du gouvernement et des organismes publics (RREGOP), Pension Plan for Management (RRPE), Fonds d’amortissement des régimes de retraite which includes the employer’s portion of the RREGOP and RRPE and Supplemental Pension Plan for Employees of the Québec Construction Industry.

The pension funds rely on the returns generated by the Caisse to fulfill their long-term obligations with respect to the payment of pensions to their contributors.

Insurance Plans
Among the main insurance funds or plans: Société d’assurance automobile du Québec, Fonds de la santé et de sécurité du travail and Autorité des marchés financiers.

The insurance plans rely on the returns generated by the Caisse to fulfill their long-term obligations with respect to the payment of benefits to their contributors, for instance in the case of an accident.

Other Depositors
Other organizations entrust the Caisse with their funds: including Fonds des générations and Fonds d’indemnisation des clients des agents de voyages de l’Office de la protection du consommateur.
