Fixed Income
Safe Investments, Dynamic Management
Fixed-income investments include short-term securities, such as Treasury bills, and a wide variety of medium- and long-term bonds. Fixed-income investments, which are less risky than stocks, provide a relatively stable return and guarantee that capital will be protected.
The Caisse’s fixed-income securities portfolio accounts for 29.5% of the overall portfolio (as at December 31, 2007). It is diversified by type of security, by issuer and by area of the world.
The portfolio’s managers focus on:
- Exploitation of investment opportunities in all world markets;
- Diversification of management styles and investment strategies;
- Control of eventual losses through rigourous risk management.
